Dream Journal Entry from 2009 Hologram Sky
Can the government project hologram imagery in the sky to influence the populace? This sounds like a fascinating science fiction plot, doesn’t it? I have had dreams I along this theme and they always feel urgent and very real, as though the dream may be pre-cognitive. However, I am no scientist and cannot say whether or not such technology does or will ever exist. Nor am I a conspiracy theorist, yet I am open to the possibility (and to lively conversation) that we may be influenced in ways we are not expecting to be and as circumstances greatly alter our society and the ways in which our government interacts with us. How Will the Messiah Reveal Himself?
Connection/ pencil and watercolor on paper
From Passover service last Saturday:
The Kotsker Rebbe, known for his sharp-witted teachers, once told his followers that Elijah would reveal himself at his seder. The Rebbe’s room was electric with anticipation, as everyone’s face was drawn to the door.
Alas, the door opened, but no one saw Elijah. The Kotsker, his face radiating with holy joy, felt their disappointment. “Fools!” he thundered, “Do you think that Elijah comes in through the door? Elijah comes in through the heart.”
Stream Drawing Your Way to Freedom
One way to meditate through stream drawing is to enjoy the relaxation of choosing colors once the drawing has been made.
What if you’re entrapped and enslaved don’t even know it? This weekend it is both Passover and Easter and both traditions celebrate freedom from bondage. It is the season to set ourselves free! So what enslaves us? We are enslaved by our thoughts, our pain and our perceptions.
One of the reasons I encourage people to stream draw is because it is a powerful and natural way to set yourself free. By closing your eyes and using your non-dominant hand, you escape your hesitation, your ideas about whether the marks you make are “good” or “bad” and you begin a journey of conscious awareness. Stream drawing creates a space for your creative life force energy to come alive again. In so doing, you feel the sensation of freedom.
Astral Travel and Visions of a Changing Earth
Have you ever had an intense vision (whether it be during meditation, in a dream or a quick flash in your mind’s eye) of earth changes? By that I mean visions of earth doing extreme things, such as mud slides or volcanos, earthquakes or other disasters? Not to focus on the negative, but I have had such visions over the years and wonder if we are told and forewarned through pre-cognitive messages about impending disasters. I think at times we are given a notion. I think we should pay attention.
In this sketchbook entry from 2012, I describe that serious things were coming, as I was shown sand, like a crater opening in the ground. I recall the sensation that I could see every single grain of sand. Then I saw smoke from explosions and lava, undersea from a volcano that erupted under the sea. I have no idea how likely some of this is and maybe these things happen all the time, somewhere on earth. The vision was impressive enough, though and I was urged to write it down.
Hank Aaron’s Aura
Since early childhood, I’d see the hazy, soft glow of light around people’s heads (mainly), a soothing sight so compelling. I assumed everyone saw this light. But it wasn’t until I was teaching in Atlanta in my mid-twenties that I learned this glow of light had a name, and it wasn’t “halo”.
We were lucky enough to have baseball legend Hank Aaron visit our school. I was lucky enough to be positioned sitting on the floor directly in front of where Hank stood facing us all. I marveled at the sight of the soft golden glow of light around his head. Then I noticed a teacher across the room–he had a massive rainbow of light around him. I considered that he was holding what I assumed was his childhood Hank Aaron baseball bat and that he was in the presence of one of his all-time heroes.
I was astonished and could not figure out why this glowing light was different from Hank’s and from any other I’d observed. I told my fellow teacher about what I was seeing and she said, “Girl, you are seeing auras!” The next day she brought me a book all about “auras” and I realized this was not something everyone saw.
I think of this aura vision in two ways–one is spiritual and one is perhaps color theory. I think both are correct. The spiritual understanding is that every speck of matter has a quality of life within it. Every atom. Gazing at people and objects (notice I say gazing, not looking–its different!) allows you to perceive this light-filled color. Recognizing that the glow of life permeates our world and all that is in it is a blissful experience. Gazing at this light feels holy, actually. The science of it I think has to do with wavelengths, electromagnetic fields and perception, possibly synesthesia. I certainly have synesthesia (everything, even numbers have a color, flavor and and texture etc–all senses are experienced at once). Whatever it is, it is wonderful!
